Gingerbread House Contest at the Vinton Public Library
The Vinton Public Library will be holding its annual Gingerbread House Contest. The contest is open to all ages. Entries will be accepted from December 11th - 21st, 2023.Please include a display baseplate with your entry. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be announced on Friday, December 22, 2023/ VS Voyagers State Preview
Join the VS Voyagers as they perform their State Pom and State Hip Hop routines! The Benton Community and Center Point Urbana dance teams will be performing as well. This event will be on November 28, is at the VS Middle School. Attendance is free and open to the public. The doors open at 6:00 pm.
La Porte City Womens Club Christmas Tour of Homes December 10
La Porte City Women's Club will hold their annual Christmas Tour of Homes. The tour includes five homes in the La Porte City area that the homeowners have decorated for Christmas or maybe have a special story about the home. People are invited to tour all five of the homes for $10 on December 10th from 4:30-7:00 p.m. Tickets are available at any of the homes on the day of the event or at LPC Connect. Shellsburg Lions holding Bingo December 2, 6-8:00 p.m.
The Shellsburg Lions will be having Bingo at the Shellsburg Legion on December 2 from 6 - 8:00 p.m. The Legion will be serving food. Come and enjoy a great night out with family and friends. Lighted Holiday Parade November 16
The Annual Holiday Parade will be held on Thursday, November 16 beginning at 6:00 p.m.This year there will be a $100 prize awarded to the best lighted display. The prize will be given to the charity of the winner's choice. The Parade route will be as follows: E. 6th St. to 2nd Ave. to E. 5th St. to B Ave. to East 4th St. with line up on E. 6th St.
Get Ready for the Festival of Trees 2023 in Belle Plaine
The Festival of Trees will showcase the artistic talents of area businesses, organizations, and families through the trees they decorated for this event. Visitors to the festival can bring coins to vote on their favorite tree, bid on trees up for auction, or just admire the creativity. They can get a chance at one of the many door prizes and enjoy free coffee or hot apple cider.
Final days of Virginia Gay Hospital Annual Tree Walk & 100 Year Open House
Virginia Gay Hospital will host their 100th Anniversary Open House. Tours will begin in the Vinton Family Medical Clinic waiting room between 5-7:30 PM. A staff member will guide you through the VGH Facility highlighting the services and history of the hospital. See behind the scenes in OR, Lab, Imaging and more.At the completion of tours, you will be escorted to the Clinic Conference room full of Christmas spirit and a wine & cheese reception. This Thursday, November 9 from 5-7 p.m. there will be a grilled tenderloin dinner at the American Legion.
